【Abstract】Recent years more and more scholars put the importance of language teaching on emotion teaching, and most of them study learners' psychology process in language learning, study the affection of emotion factors. If teachers don't care about students' emotion in language teaching, many problems about psychology will appear and they will affect the efficiency of language learning and the efficiency of language teaching. So this paper mostly focuses on one of the students' emotion factors----the anxiety in language learning that is language anxiety, also talks about the classification of the anxiety: helpful anxiety and harmful anxiety, with focus on the latter one. At the same time, the production of anxiety in language learning is simply analyzed, for example, personality factors, emotion factors, teachers' and guardians' manner and appraisal to students and so on. It also mentions some concrete manifestations of students' language anxiety in the classroom teaching and some shallow ways to reduce students' anxiety in English learning. 

1. Introduction

  1.1 The situation of anxiety in language learning
  Everything in the world has its own situation of production and existence, so do anxiety and language anxiety. Some studies show that: "Anxiety sometimes arises in response to a particular situation or event."1 Language anxiety mostly arises in the classroom teaching. According to the classroom teaching, the main factors of causing language anxiety include about: students' individual psychological characteristic. Some students are very coward naturally and they are also lack of self-confidence and the spirit of facing problems. This kind of students is very anxious while they are learning a foreign language. Another is teacher and guardian's manner and appraisal. In classroom teaching, most of teachers in China always want students to do what the teachers ask them to do. Such as, ask them to say "A", they can not say "B" if students say "B", they will be regarded as "the bad students" and they are not allowed to he their own ideas for different questions. Even sometimes teachers he the wrong ideas, students can not say "no", they can not refuse to accept the teachers' wrong ideas. In this way, students never dare to express their own thoughts. A third one is monotonous repetition classroom teaching pattern. Some teachers do not design their teaching methods and teaching procedures carefully, always teach in the same procedure, just like this, read the new words, read the sentences and translate the sentences into Chinese, explain the important language points, and then check their teaching by making sentences. They always do like this again and again. Doing like this makes their classroom teaching boring. Students, of course, he no interest in language learning. Students' competition in natural and their aspiration to won and students' beliefs about language learning also affect a lot. Students' competition in natural and their aspiration to be better than other students is also an important factor to cause the anxiety in English learning. Even though the students that are regarded as "the bad students", they want to get good grades and they want to be better than others. When they can not come true their aspiration, they begin to give up and their anxiety in learning appears. Also some students think that they must do everything well in their language learning, such as getting good grades, getting right pronunciation and so on. Once they can not get the result that they expect, the anxiety comes up then they are very anxious. This is also the factor to the production of language anxiety.
